- The Nigerian bourse closed the day on a negative note as the ASI lost 46bps. The index is up 40.52% YTD.
- MBENEFIT (+10%) topped the gainer's chart, while LASACO/ LINKASSURE/ INTENEGINS (-10%) topped the loser's chart.
- UNIVINSURE topped the volume chart with 308.8m, and GTCO topped the value chart with N2.01b.
- A total of 30 stocks gained points while 38 stocks lost points.
- The NGX Banking Index gained 56bps on WEMABANK (+9.9%), ETI (+1.97%), ACCESSCORP (+1.08%), ZENITHBANK (+0.56%), and GTCO (+0.51%). FIDELITYBK (-0.24%), UBA (-0.62%), and FCMB (-1.35%) lost points.
- The NGX Consumer Index lost 32bps on INTBREW (-4.62%), and HONYFLOUR (-1.3%), UNILEVER (+0.14%), CHAMPION (+3.16%), and DANGSUGAR (+6.57%) gained points.
- The NGX Oil and Gas Index lost 5bps on OANDO (-0.48%).
- The NGX Industrial Index closed flat even as MEYER (-9.95%) lost points. CUTIX (+1.27%), AUSTINLAZ (+3%), and TRIPPLEG (+8.32%) gained points.

Value traded dropped by 37.24% to $9.03m. The Nigerian Bourse was relatively quiet as we saw very few crossed in today’s session. Crosses to mention were- 10m GTCO at N97.50, and 5m FIDELITYBK at N20.90. The market saw negative sentiments in most spaces. Profit taking continued in Insurance names, as many of them traded on offer at certain points during the day. We expect market sentiments to remain negative on Monday.
